How much does a Georgia LLC cost every year?

Every Georgia LLC files an annual registration between 1 January and 1 April, and the fee is $60 ($50 plus the $10 service charge). The first registration is due in the calendar year after formation, so an LLC formed in October 2026 files by 1 April 2027.

The annual registration also updates the LLC’s principal office address, registered agent and officers. Changing the registered agent between registrations costs $30 through an amended annual registration.

Profit passes to the members’ Georgia individual income tax returns. An LLC that elects to be taxed as a corporation pays Georgia corporate income tax at 5.19%.

How much does a registered agent cost in Georgia?

Every Georgia LLC must name a registered agent with a physical street address in Georgia. Acting as your own agent costs nothing, but your address goes on the public record and you must be available at that address during business hours. Commercial registered agent services charge a yearly fee for the same role.

The BusinessAnywhere registered agent service is free for the first year and $147 a year after that, with every document scanned to your online dashboard the day it arrives.

Does a Georgia LLC need an EIN, and what does it cost?

An EIN costs nothing when you apply directly with the IRS. A Georgia LLC needs one to hire employees, to open a business bank account and whenever it has more than one member. US residents with an SSN or ITIN apply through the IRS online EIN application and receive the number at the end of the session.

Founders outside the United States cannot use the online tool. They apply by phone, fax or post with IRS Form SS-4, and do not need an SSN to do it. The BusinessAnywhere EIN application service handles that process for $97. Our guide on how to obtain an EIN for your LLC covers both routes.

What other Georgia LLC fees should you budget for?

These fees apply only when you need the service. They are the Georgia state charges as of October 2026.

What happens if you miss a Georgia LLC deadline?

A Georgia annual registration filed after 1 April carries a $25 late penalty, bringing the cost to $85. If the LLC still does not file, the Secretary of State begins administrative dissolution, and the LLC has 60 days from the notice to respond.

Reinstating a dissolved Georgia LLC costs $260 ($250 plus the $10 service charge) plus the overdue registrations, more than twice the cost of forming the LLC.

If you intend to close the business, file formally instead of letting it lapse. Our guide on how to dissolve an LLC in Georgia sets out the steps.

How does Georgia compare with other states?

Georgia sits close to the national median on both counts. The $110 formation fee is $10 above the $100 median, and the $60 annual registration costs less than half of Florida’s $138.75 annual report.
