Arizona calls it a statutory agent, not a registered agent, and filings go to the Arizona Corporation Commission rather than a Secretary of State. Under A.R.S. 29-3115 the agent may be an individual Arizona resident, a domestic corporation or LLC, or an authorised foreign corporation or LLC with a place of business or residence in the state. The appointment is ineffective until the agent delivers a signed acceptance. Being without a statutory agent for 60 consecutive days is a ground for administrative dissolution under 29-3708.

Registered Agent in Colorado: What It Is, How It Works, and Why You Need One

Colorado requires a registered agent under C.R.S. 7-90-701. Since a 2024 change an individual agent must hold a current valid Colorado driver’s licence or ID card and the entity must supply that ID number, a requirement unique among the states. The address must be a physical Colorado street address customarily open during normal business hours; commercial and PO Box addresses cannot be used. An entity may serve as its own agent once in good standing, but only by naming another agent first and then filing a change.

Connecticut requires every LLC to appoint a registered agent under Conn. Gen. Stat. 34-243n, with a wide eligibility list covering natural persons resident in Connecticut and most domestic and registered foreign entity types. A natural-person agent must disclose both a business address and a residence address, which is a real privacy cost for an owner acting as their own agent. Designating an agent affirms that the agent has consented. If the company has no agent, service may be made by registered or certified mail to its principal office.

Registered Agent in Florida: What It Is, How It Works, and Why You Need One

Florida requires every LLC to name a registered agent under Fla. Stat. 605.0113. Eligible agents are individuals residing in Florida, another domestic entity, or an authorised foreign entity, each with a business address identical to the registered office. Because the statute says “another domestic entity,” a Florida LLC cannot serve as its own agent. The agent must file a written acceptance stating it is familiar with and accepts the obligations of the position. Failing to maintain an agent is a ground for administrative dissolution under 605.0714.
