Montana’s certificate of good standing is called a Certificate of Existence. The Montana Secretary of State, Business Services Division, issues it, and you order it online only through the biz.sosmt.gov Request Information form. The Secretary of State’s fee page lists the domestic Certificate of Existence at $5. Expedited processing costs $20 for 24-hour service or $100 for 1-hour service. The state does not publish a standard processing time.

A Mississippi Certificate of Good Standing is issued by the Mississippi Secretary of State, Business Services Division, which labels it a Certificate of Good Standing/Existence. Order it online through the Secretary of State’s business services portal: search your LLC or corporation, select the certificate and pay. The Secretary of State states that online processing costs $25 and is immediate. The Secretary of State has warned new businesses about ongoing certificate of existence scams.

A Minnesota Certificate of Good Standing is issued by the Minnesota Secretary of State, Business Services. Order it online through the Secretary of State’s business search: the certificate is issued as soon as you pay and emailed within 10 to 15 minutes, with a download link valid for 90 days. The online cost is $15, which is the $5 certificate fee plus a $10 online transaction fee. By mail, the fee is $5 with the Copy Request Form.

A Michigan Certificate of Good Standing is issued by the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), Corporations Division, for corporations and LLCs. Order it online through the MiBusiness Registry Portal with a MiLogin for Business account, and LARA emails it to your account address. The fee is $10 online, by phone or by mail. In person, the fee is $12.50 with the 25% expedite included, and the certificate is completed by the end of the next business day.

Kansas issues a Certificate of Good Standing through the Kansas Secretary of State, Business Services Division. Order it online by logging in to a Secretary of State user account and choosing “Purchase Certified Copy/Certificate of Good Standing Search,” where the price is shown at checkout, or by mail on Form CO for $15. Only entities in good standing can purchase one. Online certificates stay in your account for one year and carry a verification code.

Iowa’s good standing document is the Certificate of Existence, issued by the Iowa Secretary of State, Business Services. Order it online by searching your entity, opening the Business Entity Summary and clicking “Print Certificate of Existence,” or by mailing a letter that requests an original certificate. The fee is $5 for LLCs and corporations either way. Online certificates print immediately from the receipt page. Iowa issues it only to domestic entities in good standing.
